Just bought a techwrench and as a master tech with 20 years experience the techwrech is awesome!
No more useing my snap-on torque angle gauge that is a pain in the ass. I can tourqe a set of heads in 1/3 of the time. It will pay for itself in no time.
For all techs out there I highly recommend you get one.
there nice but I have had the ratchet heads replaced twice on my 3/8 one
Sadly, the techangle wasn’t in my student pricing catalogue, and even a beginner tech like me can see the usefulness of that feature. I have a 3/8th standard techwrench and I do like the idea of combining several different standards of measurement into one tool. I just wish the display was backlight.
I use a breaker bar instead of an angle gauge.3400 GMs call for 90 degrees after torquing the head bolts.Give them a quarter turn with a breaker instead.Another problem with torquing is some overtorque the fastner and you cannot tell on most.Matco, one of Snap On’s compeditors fixed that with the electronic torque wrenches.Matco did it with lights: Light turns red,you over torqued it and green is good.
